In today’s fast paced society, it seems nearly impossible to live a healthy lifestyle. Living healthy is not something we learn in school, and often times a lesson we miss from our parents. It is however, crucial to the quality of the life you live.

Healthy living is something we must take the time to learn, on our own, as we age. It is a discipline, like working out, that we must motivate ourselves stick with every day of our lives. This; however, does not meant that you should diet as frequently as possible. It actually means that you must learn to feed your body the proper nutrients, on a daily basis, so you can treat yourself to a piece of chocolate cake here and there.

Eating healthy is not as difficult as many thing. It is not about starving yourself or eating rabbit food day in and day out. Rather, it is about filling your body with natural, organic foods that are not processed, covered in toxins and chemicals, and soaked in high-fructose syrups.

If you can get this down, and implement these rules in your daily life, you will be on the path to a long, healthy life. So, you ask, how do I know what to eat? It is actually quite simple. If it did not come from a manufacturing plant, you should be good.

Foods that are grown or butchered are a good rule of thumb. None of these foods are processed, nor do they have a ton of chemicals in them to make them taste a certain way (like you would find in packaged and canned foods).

Now, if you can get your hands on the organic version of these same products, you will be better off. (Many of these items are treated with pesticides that actually harm your body whereas organic foods are not. These pesticides eventually build up in your body and act as toxins. These toxins eventually make your body function improperly which can cause severe weight gain and even other health issues.)

Having said all of this, if you can replace your processed foods with fresh foods you will find yourself in much better overall health and shape. Begin eating 5-6 small meals a day rather than three, try eating around the same times every day, add in some exercise and you will be well on your way to a long high-quality life.

Ignore the fact that some of these foods are a little more expensive or that you may have to drive a little further to get them. Think about it, you are only given one life and one body; isn’t it worth a little more to make sure you get the most out of it?

If we do not change the way we eat and live we are barely skimming by missing many wonderful opportunities this life has to offer. Do you really want to miss all this? Take the time to learn about health and nutrition; you are worth it.
