The only way to healthy living is to avoid dieting. This is, probably, the complete opposite of how any of us were raised, or what we have been taught through adulthood. Even doctors will tell you to diet and/or watch your calorie intake if you want to lose weight. Well, this is just not true.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that you can eat whatever you want and as much as you want. I’m just saying there is a much simpler way to go about being healthy, a way that is successful over the long term rather than short term.
First off, yes you do need to burn more calories than you intake if you want to lose weight. If you are looking at maintaining your weight, you need to keep the two in check. This does not mean starve yourself with senseless diets that will cause you to gain weight as soon as you are off of them. It means you need to find that happy median between working out and eating the right foods. Yes, you need to work out to be truly healthy.
Now, let’s start talking about food and the fuel that we feed our body with. You know all those packaged foods that line the isles at the grocery store; the ones that say “fat free” or “sugar free”. Just because they say they are good for you, does not mean that they are.
In fact, most packaged foods are nothing but poison to your body. These foods are soaked in toxins and chemicals that have a negative effect on your body. While they may be “fat free”, the toxins within them will – eventually – cause your body to horde fat. Not the effect any of us are looking for.
So, if you want to be healthy, you need to change the way you eat. Don’t trust packaged foods. That is the first step to a healthy lifestyle. Stick with foods that are natural and organic. Organic foods are a bit pricier, and you may not see fit for them in your budget, but you will find it is worth moving things around to make them fit.
Organic foods are not coated in the pesticides and chemicals that other fruits and vegetables are. These pesticides act the same way, in our bodies, as the toxins from packaged foods. The poison our bodies and make it eventually shut down. So, whatever you do, eat as organically as you can.
As for the natural part of foods, try to stick with foods that can be grown or harvested. Fruits, vegetables, meats, etc are all natural foods. If it is not created from a mill, it should be safe. This, in combination with staying away from packaged foods, will keep you healthier than you have been in a long time, and will extend your life by many, many years.
Not only this, but you will even have more energy to do the things you want to do with your life. Take care of yourself by sticking to these healthy eating guidelines; you will thank yourself for it in the long run.
