Clear out your home and work space. Rid your home of all the things and food that can lead you into temptation. Put your cupboard on a diet. Throw away, or give away all your unhealthy “snacky” food. This is only the easy part as food can be an addiction, just like drugs and alcohol. But unlike drugs and alcohol you cannot live without food entirely. The best is to just avoid all things that will lead you into temptation. For us women this can be a friend and for the men one specific object comes to mind, electronic games. Play station and computer games conjure visions of pizza boxes, chips packets and coke.

Do an audit of your thoughts and behavior for a healthy living and diet. While you are following an eating plan, it is important to recognize your mistakes. You can only correct your negative behavior and thoughts once you have made the mistake, but also when you recognize it and learn from it. Journalize these mistakes you make, and audit them at the end of every day, and then again at the end of every week. This will allow you to work on them and initiate personal growth.

Use the power of positive thinking for a healthy living and diet, as this will give you the power of a positive attitude. This is really easier said than done. Keep your thoughts positive. Write down positive affirmations, make them visible to yourself. Keep the on your computer or desk pad at word, or on your fridge, anywhere you like and where you look and focus a lot. Repeat them time after time, a few times a day. Initially it will be difficult, but it gets a lot easier the longer you keep at it.

Recognize the power of visualization for a healthy living and diet. Listen to your dreams. Visualize your dreams and never let them out of your sight. It is important to take the necessary steps to make your dreams come true, so work at them every day. Set yourself some small manageable goals for yourself and keep on trying.
